How to set a DHCP and identify its MAC address

Windows 98 DHCP

1. Select Settings (Nastavení), Control panel (Ovládací panely) in the Start menu

   

2. Select Network (Síť) in the Control panel

   

3. In the Network Connection settings, select TCP/IP protocol and click on Features (Vlastnosti)

   

4. Switch the settings of the IP Address panel to Gain IP address from DHCP server (Získat adresu IP ze serveru DHCP)

   

5. Delete all the settings in the panel Gateway (Brána) so that the field Installed Gateways (Nainstalované brány) is empty

   

6. Check off the Disable the DNS server (Zakázat používaní serveru DNS) in the DNS Configuration Panel (Konfigurace DNS) and confirm the changes

   

Windows 98 MAC adresa

1. Select Start Up panel (Spustit) in the Start menu

   

2. Write "command" into its command line

   

3. In the new opened window write the command "ipconfig -all"

   

4. The network adapter displays your MAC address. Copy the address and insert it into the settings at https://sco.netbox.cz

   

Windows XP DHCP

1. In the Start menu select Settings (Nastavení), Control Panel (Ovládací panely), Network Connections (Síťová připojení)

   

2. In the Network Connections panel (Síťová připojení), select the icon Connection to the Local Network (Připojení k místní síti). Click on the icon using the right button and select Features (Vlastnosti)

   

3. In the Network Connection settings, select the TCP/IP protocol and click on Features (Vlastnosti)

   

4. In the General panel (Obecné), switch the settings on the Gain IP address from DHCP server automatically (Získat adresu IP ze serveru DHCP).

   Then click the checkbox Gain the address from the DNS server automatically (Získat adresu ze serveru DNS automaticky) and confirm both of the changes

   

Windows XP MAC adresa

Windows Vista DHCP

1. In the Start panel select All Programs (Všechny programy), Network (Síť)

   

2. Select panel Network Center and Sharing (Centrum sítí a sdílení)

   

3. In the Connection to the Local Network (Připojení k místní síti) select Display Status (Zobrazit stav)

   

4. A new window connection to the Local Network status (Připojení k místní síti stav) displays, select Features (Vlastnosti)

   

5. In the Network Connection Settings, select the TCP/IP protocol and click on Features (Vlastnosti)

   

6. In the General panel (Obcné), switch the settings on the Gain IP address from DHCP server automatically (Získat adresu IP ze serveru DHCP).

   Then click the checkbox Gain the address from the DNS server automatically (Získat adresu ze serveru DNS automaticky) and confirm both of the changes

   

Windows Vista MAC address

1. In the Start panel, look up "cmd"

Home Routers, Voice Gateways

On every home router or voice gateway, there is a MAC address written on the bottom of the device. If you have this device, connected directly to the NETBOX® network in your home network, please note the MAC address down in the settings at https://sco.netbox.cz. Then restart the device with its default setting (for example to restart the voice Linksys gateway, you have to press the reset button for 20 seconds).
